Ryan and Jody Wemple have recently stepped in to the frock of Jody’s beloved father Joe Gates, whom many will remember was an extraordinary auctioneer, cattleman, 3rd generation butcher and man of the community.  In addition to being a 4th generation butcher, Jody works as a farm insurance manager and volunteers for the community through the Solano County Bids for Kids and works many youth and non-profit auctions.

 

Ryan Wemple, originally from Susanville, Ca, is a 2nd generation butcher who has learned his meat cutting skills from this father, Keith Wemple. Ryan works full time as a water tender in addition to managing the cow-calf operation he has built in Solano County with Jody’s help.  

 

Ryan and Jody are thrilled to be raising their two kids, Levi (7) and Lexie (4), in the same meat shop their grandfather grew up in.  

 

Of course, Ryan and Jody couldn’t do any of this without Jody’s mom, and Joe’s beloved wife Vanean Gates. Vanean is the glue that holds everyone and everything together here at Gates Ranch. She is always willing to help in or answer questions about the shop, hang out with her grandkids, work around the ranch or volunteer at the kids school.
